Belly Button Piercing in Conroe, TX
Thinking about a belly button piercing? This page covers questions to ask about placement, initial jewelry, healing and aftercare. Downtown Piercing is coming soon to downtown Conroe, next door to Downtown Tattoo Company. We are not open and are not taking appointments yet; sign up on our homepage to hear when booking opens.
Anatomy comes first
A navel piercing usually goes through the upper rim of the belly button. Whether it suits you depends on the shape of your navel and how the area changes when you sit and stand. A good piercer will check this with you before marking a placement, and may suggest an alternative.
Initial jewelry
Navel piercings are often started with a curved barbell. Ask what the barbell is made of, how its length is chosen and whether the decorative end is suitable for a fresh piercing. Dangling charms are generally a conversation for after healing.
Clothing, activity and healing
High-waisted pants, belts, tight waistbands and some exercise can rub a new navel piercing. Healing time varies, and navel piercings can take a while to settle. Ask your piercer about cleaning, swimming and when to come back for a check.
Aftercare basics
Follow the written aftercare from the piercer who did your piercing. In general, keep hands off the jewelry, keep the area clean and avoid soaking it in pools, lakes or hot tubs while it heals. Contact your piercer with questions, and see a healthcare professional for signs of infection.
