    Planning a first piercing in Conroe? Use a consultation to understand the procedure and the studio before deciding. Downtown Piercing is not open and is not taking appointments; this is general preparation information, not an announcement of available services.

    Start with a consultation, not a promise

    Ask whether the placement suits your anatomy and what alternatives a piercer would suggest. Bring questions about the procedure, jewelry, risks, healing and follow-up. A picture of somebody else’s piercing does not establish that the same placement is appropriate for you.

    Ask about experience and see actual work

    Ask how the piercer trained, how they keep their knowledge current and whether their portfolio includes the placement you are considering. Request healed examples where available. A studio’s use of an educational resource does not establish a piercer’s certification or membership.

    Understand the hygiene process

    Ask how instruments and jewelry are sterilized, how sterile packages are opened and how single-use needles are discarded. The Association of Professional Piercers’ studio-selection checklist is a useful resource for evaluating these practices. Do not treat a low price or a polished website as proof of safe practice.

    Clarify the complete cost and follow-up

    Ask whether a quoted price includes the procedure, initial jewelry and any follow-up or downsizing visit. Find out who to contact with questions after the appointment. Downtown Piercing has not published a final price list, so no amounts here should be interpreted as a quote.

    Confirm identification and appointment rules

    Before visiting any studio, ask what identification, age and consent requirements apply to the specific service. Do not assume a general online guide covers a studio’s requirements. Our confirmed policies and booking instructions will be published before opening.

    Leave with written aftercare instructions

    Ask for written instructions, a follow-up plan and clear guidance on when to contact the piercer or seek medical care. General online information cannot assess your individual healing or diagnose a complication. Discuss medical concerns with a qualified healthcare professional.
